Prima materia is the painting done for the collective thematic exhibition called “Earth” in Groznjan “Fonticus” gallery.
In the context of this exhibition “Earth” was considered as a symbol, solid cube, pure matter. It's deconstructed at it’s primal shape that is two dimensional crosslike net .
Black cross on canvas is not a Christian projection, but the spiritual category realized by contact of active vertical and passive horizontal in the symbol.
Prima materia is an alchemical term that refers to a prime, formless, basic mater in the state of the primordial chaos from which all things originate.
Black earth is basic element for growing life, and when life is over people come back to it under the same shape of the cross.
